The Minnesota Vikings of the ’70s were commonly known as the Purple People Eaters for their suffocating defense that swallowed run games whole. Their trip to the Super Bowl was supposed to be the icing on the cake, but the Raiders had other ideas searing the vaunted Vikes’ defense with a balance of running an passing with both quarterback Ken Stabler and running back Clarence Davis having excellent games. The Raiders set a then Super Bowl record 429 offensive yards on their way to a dominant 32-14 victory.

Yay! Mom!
I've always had a preference for not only the white road jersey uniform of the Raiders over the decades, but also for the most part, the white road jersey's of all NFL teams. Maybe my favorite road uniform of all time of NFL teams, were the white jersey (and white helmet/baby blue pant) road uni's of the Oilers in the 70's/80's. My favorite Raider of all-time? This one is very personal (our families were close during my grade school years)-backup qb (and holder-lol) David Humm. As for my non-personal favorite? Cliff Branch.
I've always wanted to see this Raiders Super Bowl in its entirety. Until now I've only seen the highlights. Kudos to whoever uploaded this.
This was the superbowl the vikings should have won they really were an amazing team that year loaded woth talent and had been beaten 3x already at this point we got the best viking team ever i thought it showed early just how damn good they where. We just overwhelmed them eventually.

How is 1:39:32 not a highlight!
OAK 32 MIN 14
2:01:34 I remember my parents were taking a nap, and I went into their bedroom and said that the Raiders were holding a sign that said, "We're No 1." They informed me that it meant, "We're number 1." that was my Super Bowl XI memory, along the Time Magazine cover that had a cartoon depiction of a Raider and a Viking at the like of scrimmage. I was 7.
Exciting game…..I heard on almost every play there was Siemon! Seems like Siemon was all over the place….these guys need to control themselves.
did anyone expect a guy named 'Francis' to beat a dude named 'the snake '
Thank you NFL channel that's some great football. Love the unies, the helmets, just about everything.
"Biggest man in the NFL at 275." He would be the smallest lineman in the NFL today. Crazy how much bigger the player are today.
1:39:22 😨 that hit was like a car crash. He knocked the living daylights out of that man and blew up his helmet 😯
My team back then.
Professionals. Each one of them. Not a single pose or warrior scream after making a play. No whining, just playing ball. I miss this NFL.
Tatum would be suspended for the hit on Sammy White if he played today. He wasn’t even penalized.
The voice of sports, the best ever- Curt Gowdy.
Sistrunk matuszak Tatum Atkinson Ted Hendricks villapiano crazy
The Tooz…what a character…great in North Dallas Forty and died at age 38.
Is it me or are these guys actually using the art of tackling? Also I noticed that Tarkenton got thrown to the ground well after he passed the ball, yet didn't whine about it like they would these days.
65 degrees in January….nice.
