Hallelujah (Acoustic Guitar Karaoke) Leonard Cohen

This is our acoustic guitar karaoke for Leonard Cohen’s classic, “Hallelujah”. We drew inspiration from the duet by Tori Kelly & Jennifer Hudson on the soundtrack for the movie, “Sing”. However, we did steal a verse from Jeff Buckley’s version! Of course, you can sing whatever verses you like – the original song has 15 of them!

✘ Lyrics ✘

Now I’ve heard there was a secret chord
That David played, and it pleased the Lord
But you don’t really care for music, do you?
It goes like this, the fourth, the fifth
The minor fall, the major lift
The baffled king composing Hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah

Your faith was strong but you needed proof
You saw her bathing on the roof
Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew you
She tied you to a kitchen chair
She broke your throne, and she cut your hair
And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah

Well, baby, I’ve been here before
I’ve seen this room and I’ve walked this floor
I used to live alone before I knew you
And I’ve seen your flag on the marble arch
And love is not a victory march
It’s a cold and it’s a broken Hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah

I did my best, it wasn’t much
I couldn’t feel, so I tried to touch
I’ve told the truth, I didn’t come to fool you
And even though it all went wrong
I’ll stand before the Lord of Song
With nothing on my tongue but Hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah

Aleluya, Aleluya, Aleluya, Aleluya

  2. Pai, eu quero te amar
    Tocar o teu coração,
E me derramar aos teus pés

    Mais perto quero estar, Senhor
E te adorar com tudo o que eu sou
E te render glória e aleluia

    Aleluia, aleluia
    Aleluia, aleluia

    Quando lutas vierem me derrubar
    Firmado em ti eu estarei
Pois tu és o meu refúgio, ó Deus

    E não importa onde estiver
No vale ou no monte, adorarei
A ti eu canto glória e aleluia

    Aleluia, aleluia
    Aleluia, aleluia

    Senhor, preciso do teu olhar
Ouvir as batidas do teu coração
Me esconder nos teus braços, ó pai

    Toda minh'alma deseja a ti
    Junto com os anjos cantarei
    Tu és santo, exaltado, aleluia!

    Aleluia, aleluia
    Aleluia, aleluia

A ti, senhor, ó todo poderoso
Rendemos aleluia ao único digno a ti, aleluia!

    Aleluia, aleluia, aleluia
    Aleluia, aleluia

Quiero estar cerca de ti y adorarte con todo mi ser
    Y rendirte toda gloria, aleluya.

    Aleluya, aleluya, aleluya, aleluya.
Cuando sienta yo caer firme en ti estaré
Pues tú eres mi refugio oh señor.
No importa donde pueda estar, en valles de dificultad
    Te adoraré cantando aleluya.

  4. You say I took the name in vain
I don't even know the name
But if I did, well really, what's it to you?
There's a blaze of light in every word
It doesn't matter what you heard
The holy or the broken Hallelujah

    Hallelujah, Hallelujah
    Hallelujah, Hallelujah

  6. I love this cover. At first I thought that no matter what I did whenever Is sung this song it would sound like I was running over my cat 🤣 But this cover accompanies my voice beautifully and I thank you for this cover

  7. Hello!!! This song is beautiful and takes my breath away. Especially when I heard it in Shrek, haha! I sang a cover on my channel if you'd want to check it out. It's pretty funny, my little sister barged in and starting hitting me with a blanket. 😂

  8. I love this so much and I’ve actually used it for a cover – I just started a YouTube channel doing cover song recordings in isolation and this one is the most recent. I’d love for anyone to check it out – it would mean a lot to me.
Anyway, I hope that whoever reads this is healthy and well during such strange and unprecedented times. Have a lovely day!
