8 THINGS TO DO IN SAIGON (Ho Chi Minh City) | VIETNAM VLOG #038

8 things to do in Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City). Vietnam Vlog #038

We recently spent the day exploring some of Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) and thoroughly enjoyed our time. This vlog covers everything that we saw, ate and did during our day spent exploring this mega city!

To start off with, we visited the iconic war remnants museum. It was a very interesting, must see attraction, but bear in mind, it is not for the feint-hearted!

Next we headed to the famous Ben Thanh Market for some shopping, its a great place to pick up that Vietnamese souvenir you’ve been after! After that we had a short walk up to the Ben Thanh Street food market. This is a great place to pick up all sorts of different foods! It is one of the top tourist attractions, so be ready to pay slightly more for food here!

After that we caught a quick Grab ride over to the Central Post Office and Notre Dame Cathedral, also a very worthwhile visit when coming to Saigon. The cathedral is currently under construction but it is still a great sight. The post office is grand and still in operation, so we recommend buying some letters at the market and posting them back home to family from here!

After that we popped in at the famous book street, this is a very trendy area and has coffee shops for you to rest your legs.

We then headed a few blocks down to the incredible city hall. this building is iconic and a must-see when in Saigon! In absolutely beautiful! Once you’re done you can head down the walking street and go for dinner at one of the many restaurants in the area.

As always, if you have any questions please feel free to leave them in the comments below and we’ll get back to you. If you have no questions, still leave a comment just to say hello:)

We look forward to seeing you in the next video!

  2. Interesting video, I liked the cinematography in it. I went to Ho Chi Minh recently and enjoyed seeing all the sites mentioned in this video. Next time you should check out some of Saigon's temples. If you're interested in a bit more detailed guide on these attractions feel free to check out my blog here https://theexploringkiwis.com/vietnam_home_page/ho_chi_minh_city/

  3. Rhett, since you've mentioned it, what was that harrowing and horrifying experience? Was that in Vietnam? Please share so we'd be aware of it when we go to Vietnam next time.

  7. My wife and I came back from Vietnam to Japan on August 15th. We visited the museum in Saigon. The 1st floor is OK, but the exhibition on the second floor made us sad. As you, I didn't put pictures on my facebook, which I took on the 2nd floor. You put Vlog about Da Nang. I recommend Hoi An. Please visit the lantern festival there. I enjoyed your vlog. Good luck.

  8. The Cathedral, Post office and City Hall is some of the few remaining French architecture left in Saigon. The Cathedral take forever to renovate because they have to importing bricks from France. Yall have to visit Cu Chi tunnel it's very fun and scary if you have claustrophobic haha

  9. It brings back the memory from my last trip to HCMC last Dec. I stayed at an Airbnb basically just next to the Ban Thanh Street Food Market.

  13. Très belles prises de vue…. On se demande d'ou vient le goût de faire un musée avec ces armes qui ont tuées des milliers de nos compatriotes… c'est presque glorifié l'ennemi!

  14. Love Vietnam, such a lovely country. The war remnants museum is definitely tough to visit, but it's good to learn about the history and how the Vietnamese people were so affected.
